The roll was casted with grooves. The hardness in the barrel and bottom of grooves is almost same. It has long working life and excellent surface finish. They usually are alloy indefinite chill cast roll or alloy graphitic cast roll. Used in finish stand of medium size or large size section steel mill and large bar rolling mill.
